My first ideas were to make simple props based on prompts seen in the show. Though these didn't develop into anything, I am pleased with how they went.

The first was a 'Hexcore' - the source of energy for the city in the show - but we never see it in its original form, which is what my design is based off of. I drew off of concept art to make a simpler version, complete with my own runes that have their own symbolism - but I decided it was too close to the source material.

The second prop idea was a mask designed specifically for Jinx. I played around with the 'unlucky' symbolism of certain animals - a cat, an owl, and a fox, each with their own specific connotations but all being associated with bad luck in different cultures. I experimented with adding different graffiti symbols based off of Jinx's own handwriting and the childish pictures she draws throughout the show. The fox mask was the best of the three, being partially based off of Japanese Kabuki masks, cracked along the centre to show her fractured personality. I would most likely have made these from Veriform and clay, as demonstrated in our mixed materials workshops.
