Development

Given that the design had to somehow relate back to Newstead Abbey, I chose to incorporate visual elements from the site into my design. I took the carpet pattern from the room the work would be displayed in, and used it for the fabric of the corset. The stained glass emblems were modified into Wonderland motifs, but maintained their colours, and I used the chandelier tipped upside-down as the Queen's crown. The shoes resemble the rose gardens at the Abbey, and I also used roses across the dress for coherence.
